KINGSTON — Jamaica’s championship aspirations have been dealt a massive blow just days before the 2026 World Athletics Relays in Gaborone, Botswana. The reigning 100m World Champion Oblique Seville and Olympic silver medalist Kishane Thompson have both officially withdrawn from the national squad, leaving the men's 4x100m pool significantly depleted.
The news has sparked intense debate within the athletics community following reports of a financial dispute between the athletes and the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA).
